The semester-long publication project required me to choose a topic that I could expand into a publication. We were permitted to source articles and images online and compile them to tell a cohesive story.

Fragment is a magazine that goes over various topics surrounding memories. It covers media related to memory, such as Memento, dementia patients who are incarcerated, how to make memories last, and first-hand stories from a dementia patient.

My goal was to create an approachable way to consume the information and avoid the publication turning into something more in tune with a textbook.
Agency consists of multidisciplinary student teams comprising talent from fields such as design, marketing, communications, film, and technology that work directly with clients to provide creative solutions.

I achieved this through including artistic imagery and type to visualize memory and the loss of it.

This included the layering of text, lowering the opacity of the running heads until they eventually fade, and distorting and blurring images. I designed a lithograph print to accompany Fragment, utilizing quotes from one of the articles. I used the transparency that was created in the process as a page in the magazine.
